About This Game
Borderlands 2 is a shooter with a protagonist’s perspective and leveling up abilities and passive upgrades, like in the genre of role-playing adventures. A direct continuation of the story of the original game. The main differences from the first part are a greater emphasis on the plot component and the addition of a more advanced weapon editor with many possible modifications that open up along the way.
Weapons are divided into several types according to manufacturers:
– Distance – reduced recoil and the presence of a burst firing mode.
– Tediore – does not have additional horns, instead of reloading it must be thrown like a grenade at enemies to explode.
– Hyperion is the firm of the antagonist. A feature is the increase in accuracy in the course of firing.
– Maliwan – has the ability to impose special elemental debuffs on the enemy, whether it be freezing or poisoning.
– Vladov – the fastest weapon.
– Torgue – has a slow speed of bullets, but they have explosive properties.
– Jacobs – Huge damage but low ammo.
– Bandit – roomy magazines, but a long reload time.
Before the start of the Borderlands 2 campaign, gamers are given a choice of 6 characters with different backstories, a set of abilities, their own upgrade branch and characteristics. They are not tied to a specific type of weapon, due to which everyone can choose their weapons without obstacles. During the journey, the protagonist receives tasks from non-player characters controlled by artificial intelligence or from bulletin boards. For completing quests, a reward is due in the form of any trunks, experience points or eridium – a rare metal that acts as a currency in the local world.
Many characters from the first part of the series remained at the center of the plot, for example, Claptrap’s robot or the main antagonist of both games, Handsome Jack. The main goal of the protagonist is the destruction of Jack’s dictatorial regime on the planet Pandora.
