About This Game
The story of DOOM 2 continues, and the hero – a marine, having defeated enemies from the underworld, goes to Earth, which the monsters have turned into a real hell. In the previous part, the protagonist managed to deal with monsters on Mars, Phobos, Deimos, and now it’s the turn of his native planet. Monsters rage on military bases and on city streets, so the architecture of the levels in the game is appropriate.
The shooter consists of three dozen levels – from simple arenas to long labyrinths, and 2 secret ones – Wolfenstein and Grosse, which at first were Easter eggs with separate textures, soundtracks and SS men from Wolfenstein. The character will again conduct firefights with a familiar enemy. In the process, the hero receives information that some people managed to escape. They went to the spaceport, which is used by the survivors to transfer to the transport spaceship. The protagonist is the last living person on Earth. He calmed down after receiving news from the survivors, because the civilization of earthlings will be able to revive, having settled in space.
Soon the character of Doom 2 is in for a surprise – the guy again receives a signal from people who managed to find the place where the enemy regiments come from. Having reached the gate, which opened the passage between dimensions, the hero does not find options for how they can be locked. This caused the Marine to go straight to hell to find a way to lock the gate or destroy all creatures. Once in hell, the infantryman stumbles upon the abode of one of the demonic creatures. During the battle, the guy manages to kill the demon, which, being in its death throes, destroys the inferno. The invasion has now been stopped.
To progress through the levels, the player must find ways to move between them while killing armies of infernal creatures. Instead of the usual 3 episodes in the first game, which were played in any order, the developers created 1 episode, which is interrupted by plot inserts with text. Thus, the items collected in the process: armor, weapons, ammunition, remain with the protagonist throughout the entire passage. The Master Levels appeared in the game – intricate maps with increased difficulty and different stages, for example, there is Bad Dream, where you need to fight the Spiderdemon and a lot of Cyberdemons, and at The Express Elevator to Hell stage, the elevator will occupy most of the location.
