About This Game
Outcast 1.1 was compiled from the original source code and improved to run smoothly on modern computers. Major improvements over the original version: multi-threaded voxel rendering for higher performance, software-based bilinear mesh filtering, part of the HUD redesigned to accommodate higher resolutions, new high resolution skyscapes, new launcher, built-in xbox gamepad support, user-friendly controller setup, many bugs fixed and stability improved.
Story:
In 2007, the US government successfully sends a probe to an alien world in a parallel universe. As the probe transmits video images of the world, an alien life form detects the probe and damages it, causing a destructive energy reaction that forms a black hole that threatens Earth. Former US Navy SEAL Cutter Slade is assigned to accompany three scientists (William Kaufmann, Anthony Xue, and Marion Wolfe) on their mission to this alien world to retrieve the probe and stop the threat. Arriving on this alien world, Cutter becomes separated from the other scientists and is greeted by the locals as his messiah, Ulukai.
