About This Game
Sid Meier’s Colonization (Classic) is a legendary, world-famous turn-based strategy that spawned a whole series of games in this universe from the famous game designer Sid Meier. The action will take place in the New World in 1492 – the era of the Great Geographical Discoveries, where gamers will have to manage the colonists of one of the 4 most powerful powers in Europe: England, the Netherlands, France or Spain. Each faction has a different set of abilities to implement different strategies to win.
At the start, the player is given the choice of what the map of the area will be – repeating the real American mainland or randomly generated. After that, the ship of the colonists is sent on an exploratory mission in order to settle in new lands. In the territories of America, you can meet 9 different indigenous tribes: Tupi, Sioux, Apaches, Iroquois, Cherokee, Aztecs, Incas and Arawaks. An important part of the gameplay will be interacting and building relationships with them. You can agree to live peacefully and conduct mutually beneficial trade, or you can arrange a bloody multi-year war with some of the tribes or all at the same time.
At one point, the gamer’s colony will reach the idea of becoming an independent state from the country chosen at the beginning. The goal of the entire passage will be the recognition of the colony as an independent state. Once the insurrection process begins, troops arrive from the Old World to quell separatist sentiment among the player-controlled population.
