About This Game
A platformer with a subgenre – rogue-lite – is a kind of rogue-like, only with not so high expectations for the players. The world in the game – Spelunky – is displayed from the side. Your character is a simple person who is trying to get out of the dungeon. Quite a logical outcome for such a game, but it was not there. Our protagonist is a brave but depraved seeker of treasure and adventure. More than once he will dream as he progresses about how to save some beauty. He will save them. But it’s all about intentions!
The rest of the game is typical for representatives of its genre. The hero will run around randomly built locations with random drops and monsters. At the beginning we create a character, then we upgrade his skills, and after that we die. This procedure is repeated so many times until we get to the transition to another chapter.
The project – Spelunky – is interesting because around us is not an open space, as in rogue-like games, but levels with a linear passage. Treasures, weapons, armor, abilities and other items are scattered everywhere, but we always know where to go and what awaits us ahead.
Of the original weapons, we have a cable and bombs in our hands. We want – we throw, we want – we lay them at the place of patrolling the territory. We only do what we want to do.
The key task of the player is to earn gold at the location. If in the representatives of the genre we immediately lose what we have earned, in this case we will be able to spend what we have accumulated in a new chapter or at death, earning money for resurrection. At the beginning of the level, you can buy items to restore health or enhance in the form of abilities.
