About This Game

Our hero wakes up in a pipe that leads to a huge island in stylized graphics without shaders, but with unique lighting. Everything in this world practically shines and glows. At first in The Witness , you may not understand what you even need to do here. To be honest, the whole game is one big question: everything starts from the beginning, where you are shown the first puzzle, and ends at the moment when you see the last petrified poet.

Our hero will have to go through a long pipe while the printed monologue lasts. After that we find ourselves on the island. There are more than 500 different puzzles in the game, along which we move from the beginning of the island – drive land – to the mountains, and later the creator’s laboratory.

Each puzzle gives an answer to some important life question. Simply put, we get a storehouse of useful quotes disguised as quests. By the way, moving around the territory of our new home, we find a player with recorded quotes from guides, travelers, discoverers, philosophers and poets. This is the same clue to the passage of the plot, like the petrified people placed throughout the island.
