Tomb Raider: Underworld is the ninth adventure in the Tomb Rider series. Lara Croft goes in search of Thor’s Hammer. With the help of an ancient artifact, the adventurer wants to open the gates to Avalon, the place where her mother disappeared many years ago. The heroine will visit Thailand, Southern Mexico, the island of Jan Mayen, and even the haven of the dead Helheim. In each area, different types of opponents lie in wait. In the jungle – big aggressive tigers, poachers and zombie Indians. In the cold afterlife – revived Vikings and Yetis.
In Tomb Raider: The Underworld, you need to explore the map and collect secret items. The locations contain 179 treasures and 6 relics, which are often located in hard-to-reach places. On the ground, you should climb on a hill and perform acrobatic stunts, in the water – dive with scuba gear and a harpoon to explore the sea ruins.
New features have appeared in the combat system. Lara is able to neutralize or kill the enemy. The weapon hits multiple targets with dual scopes. You can shoot from a height, catching one hand on the ledge. In addition to the usual knives and guns, the adventurer will have at her disposal the Hammer of Thor – the most powerful weapon that will come in handy to fight the local evil spirits in Avalon.
Acrobatic stunts, environmental objects and equipment help to overcome obstacles. Magnetic cat allows you to climb steep walls and move objects. Sound-sonar map shows secret passages and hidden things. The motorcycle allows you to quickly get to the desired point, leaving behind mud, snow and ice. The environment leaves an imprint on the heroin – traces of dust and sweat from physical exertion and jogging appear on the body.
