About This Game
Divinity 2: Developer’s Cut is a 3D action/RPG from a third person perspective. It is a direct continuation of the two previous games in the series. The game was developed by a fairly well-known German studio Larian Studios, which specializes in creating mainly role-playing games. The official release took place in 2009.
The game mechanics are typical for their action/RPG genre. At the beginning of the game, we are asked to choose the gender and class of the character. The appearance settings here are the simplest – hairstyle, hair color, skin and eye color, tattoos or their absence. The combat system is somewhat similar to what we could see in The Gothic series of games.
There is a hit, there is a block, and melee combat is about finding a certain balance between blows and blocks. For each type of opponents you need to adapt, so as not to become a victim of the ossified monotonous conduct of the battle. In addition, you can also use magical combat spells, striking the enemy from a distance. This is quite valuable, because health healing potions are quite expensive here, at least more than mana restoration potions (magical energy).

The plot tells how Damian breaks out of prison between the worlds, and goes in search of the one who deprived him of his freedom. Other than that, it’s a fairly linear story arc. I would like to note that in its spirit, Divinity II: Developer’s Cut clearly resembles The Gothic already mentioned above. Even the basic appearance of the protagonist refers us to the Nameless, although, of course, you can always change the appearance settings if you wish. All fans of this genre are highly recommended to get acquainted with this wonderful role-playing game.
