About This Game
Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword is an official add-on to the original game, which was worked on by programmers from three studios, including both Ukrainian and Russian developers. This addon adds a new storyline and transfers the action to medieval Eastern and Northern Europe of the 17th century, where there is an atmosphere of mistrust towards neighbors and constant skirmishes for fortified settlements. Because of this, the modification complements fortress sieges with the possibility of blowing up a wall or poisoning drinking water in order to more quickly defeat the owners of the fortress. The plot has 3 different storylines, for example, the uprising of Stepan Razin or the war between Sweden and the Commonwealth.
5 real-life states are presented with different initial scenarios:
• The Commonwealth is at war with the Ukrainian Cossacks, and has tense relations with Sweden.
• Moscow kingdom – the people are very dissatisfied with the low standard of living due to the reforms carried out. This can cause riots in villages and fortresses.
• The Zaporizhzhya Army – are waging a war for independence from Rech and Muscovy.
• The Kingdom of Sweden – has views on the territory of present-day Poland.
• The Crimean Khanate is a very strong economy, as a result of which the army is one of the strongest. They are hostile to their neighbors on the map – the Ukrainians.
The weapons supply has also undergone huge changes. The first firearms have appeared that have a long reload time, which makes the fighter vulnerable during this process. All weapons are divided into 7 types: cold (broadswords, sabers, scimitars), crushing (chasings, maces), chopping (axes, halberds), polearms (pikes, spears), firearms (carbines, muskets, pistoles), bows and throwing daggers . Another innovation in the modification “Fire and Sword” is the ability to become the king of any state due to a coup d’état during a civil war.
